I had chosen to stay here during my end-of-year break. Miss Adiz at the concierge desk had been very welcoming and helpful regarding the check-out requests and inquiries. She also handled the check out and billing with detailed explanation, appreciate the considerate manner with this.

"Aggressive Housekeeping"
TripAdvisor user rating 4.0 out of 5
Reviewed January 12, 2025 NEW
I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and always enjoy my stay. Comfortable and spacious rooms, excellent breakfast buffet, and good location. However, I was quite upset with the overly aggressive housekeeping this time and felt it was worth mentioning. As a solo traveler who is rather clean and doesn’t eat in my room, I typically opt to leave the “do not disturb” sign on my door every other day. I simply don’t need daily service. However, this is the first time I was confronted and shamed by housekeeping for doing so. Gotta love being greeted in the morning by someone berating you in the hallway and saying that she was about to call in a “wellness check”. For leaving my door closed for a day??? She came back another time and knocked on my door while the placard was up. When I didn’t answer because I was in the bathroom, she proceeded to leave a message on my voicemail. I don’t know if this was an isolated incident or a new trend for this hotel. And since she was so passionate about handing me a card with her name on it and soliciting a review on TripAdvisor, her name was Victoria. Again - lovely stay otherwise. Hope I have a different room attendant when I return next month.

"Excellent Service and Location!"

Amazing hospitality and service from Intercontinental hotel staff. The receptionist at check-in, Arvida, was very nice and helpful with recommendations. My room overlooked the harbor and I could see the New Year’s Eve fireworks from my bedroom. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and winter holidays. I was provided a microwave when I needed to re-heat some food. The hotel location is excellent - across from the walkway to Union Station and within walking distance to the harbor front, CN Tower, Rogers Center, and Scotia arena.

"Sneaky fees added"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5
Reviewed December 30, 2024 NEW
Not my first time here. Rooms and restaurant are good. Location is good. The hotel has added in an amenity fee. Like airlines and fuel surcharges I find this a borderline unethical move. Money going to the hotel is the room charge. Full stop. I don’t like a hotel that tries to use hidden items to reduce the posted rate. I stayed at an Intercontinental in New York the previous week and they had no hidden charges. So while I liked the hotel it will impact my decision on future stays.
