A nice stay, reasonable breakfast, comfortable beds, and a nicely appointed room. BUT…This property has installed a motion detector in the ceiling to turn off power to most of the room when the room is empty. Not a bad thing, except it also turns it off while you are sleeping. But if you move in bed, it switches it back on, causing the microwave to let out a loud beep when it powers back on. Over and over and over. Also, mounted in the ceiling is a smoke or fire detector which blink brightly every 10 to 15 seconds, all night long. We had to turn off the in room refrigerator because it made a rather loud “ringing” noise. Lastly, this property is very near railroad tracks so occasional train noise is heard. A bit disappointing when we told the desk person, we got a thanks for letting us but not any kind of apology for the issue. So nothing major, but lots of little bits that add up to one less star I would hope staff would check for these things. I would consider staying again though as old town is great to walk around, a good choose of restaurants near by (especially if you like burgers and beer), and staff was very friendly.

Wow! For only about $20 more than the room we'd stayed in about an hour away from here, we got a huge suite at Hotel Lexen. It may actually have been TOO big! The bed was very comfortable, the living area was great, although we don't understand why NO DOOR between the two? So if one of us wanted to go to bed sooner, they still heard the TV in the other room. Also, the bathroom was gigantic and so was the shower. But too much wasted space in there. One bad thing was the shower head that had almost no water pressure on either of the two settings. Possibly just needed soaked in vinegar to get rid of hard water buildup? Did enjoy the convenience of the outdoor bar on the second floor. Breakfast in the morning was okay. We really didn't get more than coffee since we were meeting someone elsewhere. Parking was convenient and safe. Staff were all friendly and professional. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean, and I loved the vibe and decor. The 2nd-floor bar had a great atmosphere, and the location was perfect, close to many eateries. I appreciated the thoughtful touch of earplugs provided for rooms on the railroad side. While the train noise was audible, it wasn’t disruptive.
