This hotel is gross. The whole place smells like mold. The front desk person was not polite and they will do anything to make an extra buck. The took my entire reservation and gave it to someone else. I paid for 2 nights and for nothing. They made me pay again. So in all I paid $650 to stay in this crap hole for one night. BEWARE do not stay here!!!

The staff and breakfast were great! HOWEVER the construction quality is horrible! extremely noisy building with door slammers. The security of the doors are very questionable, you can see air on the other side! There is nothing "new" about New Mexico at all!

We really enjoyed this hotel! The location was absolutely perfect for our impromptu weekend getaway. It’s close enough to Legoland it would have been a cheap Uber ride away had we not rented a car for the long weekend. It is not, however, close enough I’d consider walking to Legoland, especially not with children. The hotel was right down the street from the beach, a prime location with lots of parking on the sand and a rock divider between the water and the sand. This was something we were grateful for with young children experiencing the beach for the first time. The onsite hotel parking wasn’t free, but it was cheaper than other surrounding locations. The breakfast was hot and typical for a hotel. There were quite a few choices that rotated but stayed relatively similar. The outdoor pool was big and heated and the hot tub was nice enough. The Benihana’s restaurant was conveniently located in the parking lot of the hotel. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable. Should we ever find ourselves visiting Carlsbad again, we will be returning for another stay!

I actually love the IHG brand but this location has discriminatory practices. Staff members that act scared towards a certain color of people and make up lies. You’ve been warned and remember I told you so. One should not stay here if you happened to look a certain way😳😒🤔

Front desk staff was awesome! Very friendly and informative. Robert & Gaby were on top of all my needs, and when I couldn't figure out how to work the TV Pedro swooped in to show me how! Breakfast was great with lots of choices. This will definitely be where I stay when I come to Carlsbad.
