"Get the HVAC under control"

Aside from the rude, brisk check-in, he room wash crazy hot (above 80) when we checked in. We thought we turned the heat down and went out for dinner to let it cool off. We got back and it was even more hot. We called the desk and they sent up a technician to turn off the heat and give us a box fan. The AC on our floor was out. Also the refrigerator didn’t work. The view was nice, but we were sweating while trying to enjoy it.

"Not a good stay"

Our stay at the Denver downtown Holiday Inn Express was not up to standard. Every once in a while we could smell cannabis (Marijuana) come into our room. We were not advised when we pulled in that the parking was $57 a night. Found out after one night. They should have told us before we checked in.

"Hotel Policies & Mgmt Indifferent to IHG Loyalty & Service"

Staff pleasant location good. The mgmt, and hotel policies really disappointing. (1) arrived early, not advised of early check-in fee (charged early ck-in) (2) changed Rez to depart 1 day earlier that booked (charged early ck-out) (3) staff could not print a complete folio (4) mgr on-duty indicated she had her staff "competing" to see who could get the most fees when I asked about #1 and #2. (5) mgr said I must be wrong, that it was her 'best agent' (6) mgr said because they're associated to 'Autograph...' something that they had rigid policies, and could only refund one of the two unannounced chgs (7) mgr said that if I was a Diamond IHG (and not just Platinum) maybe there'd be more she could do. (8) phoned IHG customer support (who cannot actually do anything btw, just "pass the information along to the hotel") and they were indifferent about the Loyalty failures (9) Zero courtesy follow-ups from the Hotel (no calls, no emails (nothing in Spam folder). ***Suggest to not stay with this property

"Really bad experience from an IHG fan"

Negative review are not my thing. I don't write them. But. We booked a 2-night stay in June. Both were to be free, covered by the IHG credit card Chase Free Nights. At check in we were told the A/C wasn't working properly but they could provide fans. This was on a very hot, humid night in Denver. We turned the A/C on and after an hour it was clear it was not working properly. I called down to the front desk, asked to be moved to another IHG property, and was told I needed to call IHG (Corporate). Called and was told that only the front desk could do this. I was given assurance that given the circumstances the local hotel should accommodate us. Went back down to the lobby, shared Corporate's message, and was told no. Only Corporate could authorize a no-fee change. Went back to the room , called Corporate, and based on their response ,sort of gave up. On checkout was given a folio showing the second night charged at $200+. For what was booked as a Chase Free Night Award. Asked the front desk clerk to reverse the charges. "Sorry, only the manager can do that, and they won't be in until..." Challenged it via credit card and prevailed.

"AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!"

I used to stay here when in Denver on business, but never again! As we checked in, the desk clerk told us that we couldn’t adjust the thermostat, but neglected to say that none of the guest rooms have air conditioning. The only places where the air conditioning worked (and were blowing full blast) were the hotel lobby and breakfast room (where one guest remarked how « chilly » it was). What is puzzling is that management DOES know about this problem, and in responses to other one star reviews here say « they’ve contacted management, » but the reality is, nothing is being done about it! If they had to spend a night trying to sleep in 90+ degree heat, maybe management would do something about it! Also, I could not access the wifi. In order to do so, I had to use my name and room number to get an « access code, » but when I did that, I got an error message saying « your name and room number don’t show up in our records. » This place has gone downhill ever since it became a Holiday Inn Express.
