Holiday Inn Express & Suites Batavia in Batavia, NY

Have stayed in many Holiday Inn Express. This location did not live up to the standard. Biggest disappointment was breakfast Very limited offerings unlike any other HI we have visited. No pancake/ waffle machine. Limited yogurt selection No protein to go with the eggs ? Lighting was dim and the overall ambience was lacking compared to the other HI Express we have visited

We had an overnight stay at the hotels. Very well maintained clean hotel, possibly new or just got renovated. Staff was nice. Considering it was Memorial Day weekend, we got a decent deal at the last moment. It’s a bit out of the way from Buffalo, about 40 mins or so. Breakfast was decent: eggs french toast bagel cereal; the usual Holiday Inns started serving (happy to see that improved over the years) . Very convenient location. Everything is 5 mins away; Target, Walmart, Marshalls’s, McDonald’s, Applebees etc.

I stayed alone for two nights for the Eclipse. I was in a King Suite. The hotel was recently renovated and the renovation was a success. There were a few minor problems related to that renovation but they were barely worth commenting on. The room darkening shades were a great innovation. They work much better than the old curtains. I had no trouble with light even in a room over the parking lot and near the Thruway. The room was quiet at night as well. The bed was comfy. The AC/heat worked well once I figured out that the thermostat on the wall did nothing - that the controls on the wall unit were being used. The quality of Holiday Inn Express free breakfast food is a problem for the whole chain, and this was true here as well. If I have any reason to go to Batavia again, I'll definitely use this hotel.

When we first got there the lady Tasha had a problem with us the room was nice but not the people and they are accusing of us smoking and we were not smoking. They are charging my mom $300 for no reason and the manager won’t tell us. They lied saying that they lock and the phone but they didn’t

Complete dump. Everybody working at the front. Desk had bad breath and body odor. Got to my room and the air conditioner wouldn’t work. There’s a thermostat on the wall as well as one on the unit and neither one of them would do anything. One of them could not be adjusted below 76°. So haul all my stuff back downstairs to the front desk only to have the clerk argue with me Before finally, giving me another room. The second room, the air conditioner work, but it belched dust and dirt as soon as it started up. I pulled the two filters out and laid them on the floor because they were completely covered in filth. I sneezed and coughed all night. A room with two double beds should have more than just two bath towels. The body wash bottle in the shower was empty so I took a shower with shampoo. No, I wasn’t going to dry off, get dressed, and go downstairs to ask for more body wash. The thing on the shower faucet that goes between shower and tub. It was stuck halfway and couldn’t be moved. There’s no plugs at the desk you have to crawl around on the floor to plug-in a laptop or whatever. The shower was moldy and dirty. It’s obvious that no one cares at this hotel. Maintenance is pathetic, staff is not trained correctly, and not professional, one of the most disappointing stays, I’ve ever had in a hotel.
