Holiday Inn Club Vacations Sunset Cove Resort, an IHG Hotel in Marco Island, FL

Felt so welcome from our very entrance. We arrived and were greeted immediately upon coming through the door. Dudley was excited to check us in and share his love and knowledge of this location. We were given a room on the second floor (203) right off the elevator. Did not hear the elevator once during our stay! The space was spacious and had a sweet elegance to its furnishings. It was great to have an extra bathroom! We spent a lot of time on the screened deck. Watching the boats on the canals. The pool was a fun place to hang out and the hot tub was relaxing. The location of the hotel on Marco made it ideal for exploration. The grocery store was directly next door.

After staying at Sunset Cove for a week, I felt compelled to get on TripAdvisor and share what a gem this place is! Sunset Cove was a perfect spot for our family. The condominium was one of my favorite places we’ve ever stayed...anywhere. It was spacious, well planned and comfortable. The bedrooms don’t share walls. There is 1BR with a King bed, walk in closet and en suite bathroom. The other King BR also has a walk in closet and bathroom just outside the door. And, across the entry hallway was a BR with 2 twin beds. The kitchen was great! It was well appointed and lovely. It also has a small stackable washer/dryer in unit which we used. The screened in porch balcony overlooks the water feature and the lovely, peaceful canal that runs through the neighborhood. It was so lovely to sit outside on the porch. The staff was so friendly, helpful and went above and beyond when we lost an item. I can't have down blankets or pillows. I called ahead and the whole place was down free. I also called ahead to let them know we'd be checking in very late (1 am) and they had our keys and paperwork laid out ready for us on the counter. They also provide beach/pool towels in the room and right at the counter. As you use them, you drop them at the desk in a laundry basket and re-stock. We brought our own towels unaware of this feature and used theirs for the convenience of it. Another amazing FREE feature is the shuttle that will drop you off at any one of the beaches on Marco Island so you don’t have to walk, park or carry items. Tigertail beach is the closest beach to the hotel. If you get dropped off, it is a 20 minute walk from the drop off spot to the beach at Tigertail. We had a car and used it to travel to the beaches. This is not ideal as parking is fairly challenging near the beach entrances. There are very few public lots. If you are patient, you’ll find a spot. Or, you’ll park and walk quite a bit. So, the Sunset Cove shuttle makes it very easy. The pool was warm but still refreshing. It’s long as well so plenty of space for people gathered in a circle talking, kids playing and others (me) just bobbing around in the water. The picture on their website is a bit deceiving of the hot tub. It is a bit small, but we didn’t use it. I just thought I’d mention it because the lens on the pictures on the website looks as if it would hold 10 people. They also have grills and provide grill tools at the front desk should you want to make your own food. The hotel is right across the street from many wonderful shops and restaurants in the Esplanade such as Deep Lagoon, CJ’s, Mangoes and our personal favorite the Italian Deli and Market (not in the Esplanade). Also, right next to the hotel is a very large park. OH, and the hotel is basically connected to a large parking lot with a Winn Dixie grocery store as well making supplies very easy to procure should you need any. There aren’t any restaurants on site at the Sunset Cove. The Italian deli is 1 block away. I suppose some may say feel it is a bit ‘far’ but we found anywhere we were going on Marco Island was furthest about 12 minutes. So, no inconvenience to us. It overlooks the canal for water views but no ocean views and across Collier street from the beaches. But, for bang for your buck and wonderful accommodations, this is the place. If I returned, I would stay again in a second. We knew people staying at a beachfront property who paid FOUR times what we paid per night. And, they had one hotel room. We had a whole apartment! ***Side note…one of our guests had to go to the airport at 3:30 am and there were no uber drivers available on Marco Island at that time (even though pre-ordered) and Lyft was 25 minutes away. We had a car so we had to drive him. But, if you’ve got an early morning flight sort out your ride situation if you don’t have a car. This has nothing to do with Sunset Cove, just thought I'd mention it. Sunset Cove was terrific! Can’t say enough good things about the place, upkeep and the staff.

We have wanted to come to the Holiday Inn resort in Marco Island forever. It finally happened and the resort is so quiet and very beautiful. We had no issues at all. The resort is awesome. Great restaurants in the area. Nice beaches however we had a bunch of rain stay with us. Beautiful Island. Beautiful resort.

I really enjoy staying at HICV locations. Booked this one thinking it had all the amenities the others do. Restaurant, bar, tennis courts, small sundries shop, etc. Was very disappointed when checked in here. Albeit very nice rooms but it's a hotel. Period. Wouldn't recommend it if you really wanted a " redort" style location.

5 star service, more than we expected. We had to travel to a family reunion in Naples, and HI Marco Island was one of the best priced properties available. It fit the whole family is 2 villas, and I am loyal to IHG so win win. The property exceeded our expectations. Room was clean and SO comfortable. The property itself was very quiet considering it was almost to capacity. The coffee in the lobby was really good! Shuttle to the beach was a perk we made a lot of use of, and i did not expect to. the driver and front desk were all so nice - helped us with our bags, offered us loaner chairs and were really quick when we needed to return. This was a huge time and money saver for such a small amenity fee. The pool is very small, but the pool and hot tub were clean. I guess people don't come to Marco Island for the resort because i did not find one hotel with an extravagant pool :) The Esplanade was a great spot for food and drinks - Mangos food was delicious. Winn Dixie - right downstairs! I think we will come to Naples again JUST for this hotel. Thank you to the shuttle driver (Sorry i dont know his name) and LINDA at the front desk for both going above and beyond for all of us.
