Deeply Disappointed by the Appearance + Condition of my Room! 1. We were grateful for the early check-in but sadly entered a room that Reeked of Cigarette smoke. I find it hard to believe the cleaning personnel did not notice this odor. We reported the negative, and it was thankfully remedied before our return. 2. Visible Unprofessional Water Damage Repair along the baseboard opposite the bathroom. 3. Peeling wallpaper throughout our room. 4. Add more towel hooks in the bathroom. Besides the broken one, there are only two. 5. Bubbling Caulk above the shower and cracks that require repair. 6. Rusted Out Fire Sprinkler - Bathroom. 7. Visible Rusted Nails Along the Shower Soap Dish. 8. Dirty Lamp Shades throughout. 9. Dusty along the Carpet Border in many areas + behind the chair by the window. 10. Unpleasant odor in the closet, which requires a refresh. 11. I could go on, yet I'm sure management is aware. DEEP CLEAN THIS ROOM! 12. I reported these negatives and was advised to email management. The front desk staff did not apologize or care for my concerns. Sadly, I can't recall the young man's name and was short on time to adequately address the matter in person. 13. I EXPECT BETTER FROM HILTON CHECKERS FOR MY 121,000 HILTON HONORS POINTS Redemption for 2 Nights! Positives: Your Valet Team is 1M% A Heavenly 1st Impressions Gem! Charming + Inviting Historic Lobby. Beautiful Sunrises from the Rooftop. Picturesque View from the Corner Room 1209. The Bed + Pillows were Comfy. The Restaurant's Poke Bowl + Wild Berry Blast Mocktail were Both Delicious!! P.S. What is the meaning of the California Chemical Warning Sign on Floor 12? Unfortunately, your front desk staff couldn't provide me with context.

"Hilton Checkers LA Greedy."

The hotel was booked for us as part of a cruise package. We arrived around 10:15 A.M. and were charged an extra $75.00 for early check-in. That was highway robbery. There is nothing within walking distance of this place so you have to do everything there. The clerk who checked us in was very rude; either we pay the $75 or sit until 4:00 check in with all our luggage. I have informed the cruise line about this. If we do this again, we will book our own room.

"Typical boutique hotel conversion with lovely lobby & very average rooms."
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5
Reviewed November 06, 2024
I am drawn to historical buildings that have been converted to boutique hotels, but I am usually disappointed with the accommodations & this was yet another example. The Lobby is lovely & welcoming but he rooms, & especially the bathrooms, are TINY & unpleasant. Even though we opted to "upgrade to a larger corner room", 1 window looked directly into another room about 10 feet away, so we had to keep the drapes closed for privacy. With outstretched arms you could touch 2 walls in the bathroom, which requires 1 person to step into the shower if 2 persons want to use the room at the same time. The building is lovely & the staff is friendly, but they are obviously still struggling with staffing issues in the bar & restaurant. Like many cities, Downtown LA is definitely suffering from a significant & unpleasant homeless problem, so be prepared for that issue if you stay Downtown. However, the wonderful Water Grill restaurant & beautiful & historic Biltmore Hotel are both directly across the street, which are excellent nearby options. Quick 15 minute Uber ride to the Amtrak/Santa Fe train station. Absolutely NOT worth the 80,000 Hilton Honor points required.

"A convenient downtown hotel without too much homeless issues"

A good Hilton option among the Hilton family in downtown LA. Pros: 1. Front desk crews are friendly and flexible for Hilton Honor members. Hotel stuffs are attentive to address problems. My room temperature was not right. Once I reported it, a technician showed up to fix it right away. 2. Though it is in downtown, it doesn’t have too many homeless issues around the hotel 3. Bathrooms at guest rooms are spacious 4. It is a historical building with an interesting look from outside 5. It is convenient to variety of restaurants/food trucks, shops and Disney Music Hall and Blue Ribbon Garden Cons 1. The lobby is heavily incensed. The smell feels heavy and traditional. Why not some fresh flowers’ aroma? 2. The room sizes are very different. The one I stayed in this time is so small that it doesn’t even have a desk. 3. The destination fee doesn’t make sense to HH members. As a HH member, I already have free WiFi, so I wish the WiFi fee I paid as destination fee can be used as credit for other things.

Kristen and Mia in group sales were the best! They were so quick to respond, and make sure our Rose Bowl group had everything they needed.
