"Not friendly to sports teams"

Hotel was offered on a tournament website under the stay to play. Our team along with several other teams from the tournament we participated in and another tournament in the city this weekend stayed at the hotel. These were full teams all booked through tournament websites which means Hawthorne offered up their hotel to be booked as a required hotel through the tournaments. They did not let the teams hang out, have dinners together in the hotel lobby/seating area where they had tables & chairs used for breakfast right next to the lobby. The staff hung threatening signs all throughout the hotel pointed towards the sports teams that were staying there. Staff wanted nothing to do with us, were very rude to us and made it abundantly clear we were not welcome. I will never stay at another Hawthorne.

"Good Place to stay."

Little hall noise, but the room was fine. Breakfast was your Usual components. Che k in was easy and the gentleman told me to just yell down from the balcony if I had questions or needed anything. Cushions on the couch tended to shift a might, but not real bad. I liked the separate bedroom with the rest of the suite.

Cold pool. Only reason we booked a hotel is for the kids to swim, and it was too cold. Other guests had asked for the temp to be increased and it was t. Hotel is outdated. The room was nice and clean. Nice mini kitchen and 2 TVs. Breakfast is good as well.

This hotel has a great location near Mall St. Matthews not far from the confluence of I-64 and I-264. The lobby is spacious and welcoming as are the employees. However, there are definite issues. Breakfast food that should be hot is cold, and an unusually designed shower floods the bathroom - I'm sure the housekeepers love that - with nearly unusable curvy shelves where everything just slides off and falls to the shower floor. The décor is quite dated, but the rooms are very spacious for the price. I'd probably stay here again for the value, the room size, and the location. But I'd skip the mediocrity of the complimentary breakfast and eat out instead.

Great place to stay in St. Matthew’s. Very reasonable price & very clean. Heat/AC was a little loud. Nice breakfast buffet. Bed was comfortable. I really like that the room was a suite. Nice area and I felt very safe. Lots of restaurants nearby. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend staying here.
