I was a bit concerned by some of the reviews, but need not have been. Rooms large and clean, with refreshed furnishings and ample toiletries. Generally good breakfast, though the reliance on single use paper and plastics not only feels cheap, but is so wasteful! A (steeply priced) bar in the lobby is a nice amenity, and the valet parking - though also pricey - is well run. The best part of this visit, though, has been the excellent service. In the first day alone, I had three genuinely warm and unexpectedly helpful encounters with various staff across the hotel. This is hardly guaranteed even in a upmarket hotel, but especially rare in midrange chains like a Hampton Inn. Well done to the management - and the front desk staff in particular - for their friendly service. That is the value that will bring me, and others, back in the future.

Very nice hotel, convenient to so many things in Philadelphia. Walking distance to Chinatown, Reading terminal market, iconic City Hall, etc. All of the staff are ever so friendly. The hot breakfast was much better than other hotels with free breakfast both in terms of quality and selection.

I booked my reservation early October for end of November. When I printed the reservation it said for October. I made the reservation with a no English first language lady and she kept saying she couldn’t hear me. I called and was told it would be $400 more for the dates I originally asked for. I talked to a supervisor who said the same and wanted to put us at a different Hilton property! We canceled as this will be our first trip to Philadelphia and then on to Cape May, NJ, for our son’s graduation from Coast Guard boot camp. We always liked Hampton Inn and have been Hilton Honors members for 30+ years but will think twice before making any reservations again!!

Overall a nice hotel - since there were 3 of us we booked a suite. Cons: Needed pillow and linens for sofa pullout bed - called multiple times and waited a long time to get. Toilet had a “funny” flush - you need to hold the lever down and then release quickly. There is no mirror in bedroom only above desk in other room The only phone was in the bedroom; odd there wasn’t another on the desk The bathroom was large; however the shower itself had no shelving to place your bottles Pros: Very clean Decent size breakfast Pleasant staff Some days they had bagged packages with water and snacks available for free Easy to get to things: Reading market, On/off tour bus, metro Broad Street line

Booked for four nights used points for three nights and one night on my credit card, Got in about nine after driving for nine hours was told I didn’t have a room for the first night even though I had a confirmation and a credit card charge, told me they could get me another room across town for no charge, they manager couldn’t even tell me where the address was and he is from there, Jesus the place was an absolute joke and have never been treated like that, Do Not Stay here the valet is a joke I was afraid that my car might get stolen, the place is full of homeless people and crackheads hanging around the property STAY AWAY
