"Added $52 PER DAY to your bill!"

Additional $52 PER DAY for "RESORT FEE" that you cannot get out of paying. So don't believe the advertised low prices. Even if you don't use the Wifi (really?), pool, gym, or any other facility they have. Can't really comment on them since I didn't use them but still got charged for it. There were several people ahead me complaining about this when I was checking out. I figured I prepaid, so I was good. But noooo... they charged my credit card. The room was clean, but not the bathrooms. The bathrooms in the public areas were really bad. Food choices are very limited and goes without saying you don't get much for your money. No transportation of any sort I could find, so just use Uber. Would suggest staying elsewhere and paying extra, at least you expect it.

"HORRIFIC! The WORST hotel I've ever stayed at."

RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! We knew we were in trouble when we saw the EARPLUGS on the nightstand and a noise disclaimer. They built the "Freemont Street Experience" right below the hotel windows and the noise of 10 thousand speakers all night would NOT allow sleep even with the earplugs in! Things went wrong starting at Reception. They hav 6 self-check-in machines. After putting in all the info 2 or 3 times, it told us to go to the reception counter where ONE rude clerk was "working." We had to wait in line for awhile since it was too much trouble to get another receptionist. When we got our room keys, the elevator wouldn't work to our floor. Another guest said, "Sometimes they need to redo the key." So we humped our bags back to reception. We had to wait again! Finally, the lady said, "These keys are for Carson." She hadn't circled any one of the 4 towers on the envelope. We'd gone to Gold. The beds were lumpy. The tub porcelain was cracked and jagged edges had rust coming out! We asked what the $50 "resort fee" was for. The reply, "YOU GET BOTTLED WATER IN WI-FI." The old "Nugget" lost our business forever. We didn't spend a NICKEL within!

"Great Hotel. Clean, Fun, Nice!"

Wonderful hotel. We stayed in the Gold Tower and our room was spacious, clean, and very quiet. We were actually on the 2nd floor so I was a little surprised at that. We did have a corner room. Room service came by daily though we declined and just got fresh towels and our free bottles of water. The casino did get very crowed at night so we did most of our gambling at the much quieter, Binions, across the street. Fremont Street was awesome and we had zero issues with beggars approaching us, We chose to eat at various places all over Fremont and with so many dining options in walking distance there was something different every night. We stayed 4 nights before moving over to the Strip for a few nights which we regretted. Fremont was definitely our vibe. We did also walk to the famous Pawn Shop, and did the LOOP Bus for FREE to see the rest of downtown. Also wonderful.

"SO LOUD!"

Reviewed February 01, 2025 NEW
We came for a wedding being hosted in LV, and as a couple in our early 30s we thought DT would be better suited for us vs the Strip.. The self serve check-in kiosk is different, but not terrible. We checked in early and had to pay an additional fee to do so, even though there wasn't a room ready for us. We were told we would get a text when our room was ready but received no such text until we went to the front desk an hour later to ask about it. We were asked about upgrading our room as we were booked in the Carson Tower and there are no amenities such as a coffee maker and fridge. We denied, not wanting to pay even more on top of the early check-in and resort fees, and figured we could make due without the extras. As others have mentioned, I dont know why the resort fees are so high as we only got to utilize the free wifi. The pool was closed for the season, so I expected to pay less than we did. There are workers there who will try to talk to you every chance they get to offer a tour. We denied multiple times and it got to be taxing to try to avoid the table. The nail in the coffin was the rave that played 8pm-2am. We understand it's DTLV and Saturday night, but we would have appreciated the heads up. Our room was facing the venue so we could hear everything, even with the earplugs. Our AC was vibrating from the bass, and I could feel it in my chest. If we would have known about the rave we would have likely upgraded just to get away from the excessive sound. The room itself is fine. For being "outdated" (as the front desk put it) I think it checked all the boxes. There was a rust stain in the bath tub, but that was really it. The king bed is firm and the pillows are soft, and everything was clean. We even ran into house keeping our first morning, and she gave a very warm "good morning". There's a good variety of restaurants with decent food and good service (seriously every server we had was very good). For me, the pool is the selling point. It was the main reason we booked this hotel over others, so we were disappointed that it was closed. It made complete sense though since its still in the 60's F and probably wouldn't be the best time (also my bad for not checking before booking). TL;DR - super noisy, excessive fees, OK room. Doubt we would stay again.

"Do not stay here!"

First of all the check in was ridiculously difficult. There’s 3 people standing at the self checkouts, even though the self check out kiosks were not actually working correctly and not one of those 3 knew how to make it work. . We tried two different times and then finally had to go to the one person standing at the desk, trying to deal with the line of people. Why would you have three people standing at the self checkout kiosk not helping anyone and one person behind the desk helping everyone? The room is old and dated, but the bathroom was terrible. When you open the door it hits the toilet, and the bathtub is rusted out and doesn’t actually drain. Housekeeping is non existent. We checked in on Thursday morning and on Friday evening when we came back to our room it had not been serviced at all. We called down and complained and they brought up some towels. Saturday evening when we got back to the room it still hadn’t been serviced at all. Called down again and we were told they don’t actually clean their rooms and you have to request it a day ahead. The head of housekeeping sounded like it was a complete inconvenience for them to even bring up towels and water. It is a good thing we’re checking out tomorrow because I will never stay here again. I would not recommend anyone else to either.
