"Flu"

Sick I tested positive for the flu after going to urgent care and getting my medicine I tried getting food at 9:50 pm remind you the restaurant does not shut down until 10 but I was told the restaurant had already shut down at 9:30. Sarah works at the front desk. She was so nice enough to go and find me some crackers and make sure I had Sprite so I can take my medicine and Rick worked in the morning and he made sure that I was OK and he made sure I had breakfast. when you’re sick with the flu, it makes you feel totally helpless, but with Rick and Sarah at the front desk, they totally made my stay a lot better and I just want to thank them for their accommodations and going out of their way just to make sure I was OK.

"Will not recommend"

I wouldn't recommend staying here. As a hilton diamond member and a bonvoy titanium member, I stay at a lot of hotels, and i will not return to this one. I called for the airport shuttle two times and waited in 20-degree weather for 30 min. For about a two mile trip. There was no explanation except that he is on a run. The second time I we called, the front desk attendant said very rudely, I told the man he was on a run. No eta. When the driver arrived, he was very kind however No apology. The front desk staff at check-in and check out were very rude. I was almost afraid to ask them for anything. The lobby, rooms, and elevators are very run down and are way overdo for a renovation. My co-worker's room's toilet had poop and pee on the toilet seat when she checked in. The furniture is very old. It is certainly not up to doubletree standards. I will say the food in the restaurant is amazing and the bar and restaurant employees were great. Mostly, the hotel needs remodeling, and the front desk needs customer service training.

"Very nice stay"

Stayed two nights for an on-site conference. Overall the stay was very good. We were upgraded to the Junior King Suite which was nice. It had a sitting/dining area, a small entrance with sink and fridge, bedroom, bathroom, and small patio off the bedroom (did not use the patio as there was a snow storm). The room was very comfortable. Lots of pillows and bed was comfy and clean. The shower had excellent water pressure. The only real negative is that the heat was SO LOUD when it would turn on. It woke me up every time. During the day, you would have to turn up the TV to hear it over the heat sound. Super loud. Staff were incredible. One lady even stopped me in the lobby because she overheard me talking about needing a place to get food and gave me a fantastic recommendation (Smokey Bones!). Rick and the rest of the front desk staff were spectacular. Super attentive and responsive. The hotel was obviously super convenient since the conference was IN the hotel. Meanwhile, lots of stuff nearby- Target, Starbucks, etc. About 15 minutes drive from the downtown area. Didn't get to use $15 food/bev credit because the restaurant was closed two of the days we were there and opened the day we left.

"Overbilled and will not resolve - Beware and Avoid"

I was overbilled and they have done nothing to fix. I updated the front desk staff with information to correct billing and they confirmed it was fixed. It was NOT and I was grossly overbilled. I contacted the general manager and he sent an email and has not responded to my emails to correct the billing. I am a diamond level member that stays at Hiltons all the time. My recommendation is to AVOID this hotel.

"Very pleased with our 3 day stay here"

We have never stayed at any Doubletree before, however, it seems that they are the only hotel brand that consistently and dependably provides shuttle service to and from the airport. We arrived in Grand Rapids at 11 pm, and did not want to drive to Lansing (our destination city) with an unfamiliar rental car, in an unfamiliar area at night. So, booked to stay here. I called them to be absolutely sure that they do pick up, no matter the time, and I was told that their service is 24/7, and we were picked up about 5 minutes after our arrival. The next day, we were taken back to the airport, where the car rentals are just across the street. Coming back from Lansing, we stayed two nights here. The hotel is an older building, which has been fully refurbished. Our room was very comfortable, and the Lobby is roomy and happy looking. Every employee we met was cheerful, and friendly. Very nice staff at this hotel. AND.......what a bonus to have such a great restaurant right there. Breakfast was included in our room rate, and the many choices, plus the fresh blueberries, strawberries, melons, and other fruit were awesome. They serve a really very good breakfast with good coffee. The two breakfast servers were alert, and looking after your needs all the time. Besides breakfast, we, also, had a lunch and two dinners here. All delicious! At check in we were greeted with warm cookies. I thought that this was some sort of gimmick, but, after tasting them, I can see why they are famous. Those cookies were so delicious, that I would be surprised if there were not people checking in just for the cookies. We really were very happy that we chose to stay here, as everything was so nice.
