"Exceeded Expectations"

Fantastic Disney Property! It's rare a hotel lives up to every expectation, but Animal Kingdom Lodge delivered! I highly recommend upgrading to the Savanna Room. We woke up each day to giraffes, zebras, and other animals at our window. Unlike other Disney properties, Mickey and crew weren't staring you right in the face. The hotel felt a bit more sophisticated, and almost could have been a property outside of the Disney collection. This could be a great option for a family with older children, or adults traveling alone. Due to the fact that only shuttle buses are provided (they are frequent), it may be difficult to have a stroller. Families did it, but certainly being on the monorail is more conducive for babies/small children. The room walls are "thin." So although the property itself seems quieter then other properties, at night it is helpful to be courteous neighbors! Overall I give this 5 out of 5 stars! Thank you to the hard working cast members for making this a memorable trip.

"Your Desk Staff Made the Visit"

Visited Disney for a night and decided to try a place we had always wanted to try: Animal Kingdom Lodge. So glad we did and will definitely return. The lady who checked us in was AMAZING and I mean she went all out for us. We arrived extremely early and I had no intention of checking into our room but she not only checked us in so that we could go to our room immediately…she upgraded us to a Savannah view room which made our stay so much more magical!!! The theme of the hotel is extraordinary and having the opportunity to see the animals as well as the proximity to Animal Kingdom is a good plus. I DO wish Disney would create some sort of public transport option in addition to bus from here as well as Wilderness Lodge. The Boma breakfast buffet was absolutely fantastic.

"Great hotel, poor quality sleep"

I am currently staying here to celebrate my 30th birthday, a very special occasion that also coincides with the fifth anniversary of my mom’s passing. I chose Disney hoping for magical days and some rest during this meaningful time. The hotel itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, my experience has been overshadowed by constant noise that has prevented me from sleeping. Last night, at 2:30 am, housekeeping staff was vacuuming the hallway with a high-powered vacuum cleaner, creating an unbearable noise that disrupted my sleep. I called the front desk to report the issue, and all I received was an apology. A late check-out was not even offered; I had to go down personally to request it. In the end, I was only granted one extra hour as compensation, which is completely inadequate for such a disturbance. At check-out, we were offered $60 as compensation for the inconvenience caused, and they clarified that the vacuuming incident should not have happened. At check-out, we were offered $60 as compensation for the inconvenience caused, and they clarified that the vacuuming incident should not have happened. While this situation was disappointing and not reflective of the high standards Disney promises, there were positive aspects to our stay. We saw giraffes, zebras, and lots of animals on the hotel grounds, which was truly magical. The lobby’s decoration was excellent and immersive, though the room felt a bit outdated, with a very 90s style. However, that seems to be the case with most Disney properties, so it was to be expected.

This resort is nothing what it advertises. The rooms are definitely showing its age and mousekeeping was non existent. Dumping fresh towels without taking used ones or making beds does not count. Absolutely do NOT pay the additional charges for a Savannah Room. After 4 days the only thing we saw from our room was egrets which we have in our pond at home. We asked for a feeding schedule so we could attempt to schedule around that in an attempt to enjoy our balcony but they could not provide one saying the front desk had no information. We asked for a contact with the animal care team and they would not provide one. We were simply told the animals are free roaming and there was nothing that could be done. We understand that but there is always someway to address concerns. Instead the front desk manager Jeffery was outright rude and told us that he had the power refund us the difference in funds between paying for our Savannah Room and paying for a Standard View but he would not. Ummmm…. Why mention something that he could do but was not willing to? Seemed like he was just trying to make himself feel like a big deal. The whole exchange made no sense as we were not asking for compensation to start with. There are many lovely Disney Resorts but this one should not be included anywhere near the Deluxe resort conversation. If you are going to pay that kind of money stay somewhere with monorail or SkyLiner access.
