"Denied Elite Benefits Hotel Playing Games"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5

As a Lifetime Titanium Elite member with Marriott Bonvoy, I expect consistent service and proper recognition of elite benefits across all properties. Unfortunately, my recent two-night stay at this Autograph Collection resort was extremely disappointing. Upon check-in, I was informed that breakfast was not available as a Titanium benefit, despite this being clearly stated in Marriott's official terms and conditions for US-based Autograph Collection properties. The front desk staff incorrectly insisted that their "hotel policy" only allowed for a $10 daily credit or 1000 points instead of the complimentary breakfast for myself and one guest that I'm entitled to receive. When I questioned this discrepancy, they repeatedly mentioned the $30 daily F&B credit included in the destination fee as if this somehow replaced my elite breakfast benefit. This is absolutely incorrect and shows a concerning lack of training on Marriott's elite benefits program. I attempted to resolve this directly with management by showing screenshots of Marriott's official policy and requesting the $100 Elite Benefit Guarantee that Marriott promises when benefits are improperly denied. Unfortunately, my concerns were completely ignored. The property itself might be lovely, but this blatant disregard for elite benefits and poor customer service overshadowed any positive aspects of my stay. I've been a loyal Marriott customer for years, but experiences like this make me seriously question that loyalty. If you're a Bonvoy elite member considering this property, be prepared to fight for your benefits or choose another hotel that properly honors the Marriott program. I've since filed a complaint with Marriott Bonvoy customer service regarding this incident.

And further more, they sent someone up to bring towels and clean as we waited to shower and dress for dinner. restock the towels, change the sheets and pillowcases, grabbed the glasses sitting on the counter wash them in the bathroom sink with her hands and our soap and put them back in the cabinet for us to reuse. in our room, there is a recycle basket and a garbage basket. She took them out and dumped them in the only receptacle they have on their cart. Obviously nothing was recycled. after the quick clean and refresh she didn’t have any washcloths said that she would return shortly with them 45 minutes later we had to go down and get some from the front desk. yes we can survive without some of these items. However, the communication is just horrible.

First time staying at La Concha, normally when in KW we stay at the Gardens or the Pier House. But, since this is now part of the Marriott collection we thought we would give it a try. Glad we did. The hotel was recently renovated and they did a great job. As a Titanium member of Marriotts club it was nice to get a call a few days before our visit to see if there was anything the hotel could do to make our trip more enjoyable. Hotel is very clean, lobby is beautiful and the front desk staff and bell hop were friendly and helpful. Lobby bar was a great place to start off our trip, bartender, Gary, was nice, friendly to talk to and makes a mean Mojito. The rooms were clean and well appointed, not the biggest, but to be fair, when in KW the last thing I am doing is sitting in my room unless I'm sleeping. Didn't get to use the roof top pool, but did walk through there to check it out, very nice. Prices in KW are getting crazy, the price here was worth every penny and better than a lot of other hotels. I would return without hesitation.

"Terrible service over four night stay ruined beautiful and perfectly located historic hotel."

I do NOT Recommend staying at La Concha Hotel. The service was non-existent or poor which really ruined a beautiful hotel. A week later there has been no follow-up on our calls and email, let alone the promises from staff and a supervisor to have the supervisor call us who set up our stay. We stayed at La Concha for 4 nights and loved the hotel and location; our room was spectacular. Jesse, the bellman, was fantastic and was much more responsive and helpful than the front desk staff. However, everything else was very poor. The service and follow-up on any requests was pretty non-existent. The room prep was lacking before we arrived with soap, conditioner, and body wash not having been replenished. The small tube of lotion had been used by the previous guest. We requested the soap and conditioner since we could not shower but it took a day and a half to get it. We requested a room service/cleanup on the following day but it was not done. When we called the front desk on the 29th, we were told that we would receive a $100 credit, but that did not happen until I called 5 days later. I was again told that the supervisor would call us but that still has not happened. I emailed another supervisor and have not received a response after a week. What we thought would be an outstanding stay at a quality hotel turned out to be very disappointing and certainly not worth any price, especially given that it is a pricey hotel. The service at two Fairfield hotels further north in the Keys was far better...at a third of the price.
