"School trip"

I want to start off by saying that the lady who ran the breakfast bar was absolutely amazing—she was by far the best part of our stay. Always cheerful and welcoming, she truly made our mornings better. Now, on to the not-so-great parts of our experience. Apparently, this hotel isn't very familiar with handling school groups: Room Reservations: Each of our rooms was booked separately, which made the check-in and check-out process incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. Room Placement: Our 10 rooms were scattered all over the hotel across three different floors, making supervision and coordination very difficult. Night Staff: The night shift front desk attendant was extremely rude. We had a student get sick in the bathroom around 5 AM, and when we asked for towels to clean it up, he acted as if we had done it on purpose and just planned to leave the mess for housekeeping. Room Conditions: We had rooms with wires hanging out of the wall and tables brokken. We had a window in a students room fall out into the room. The noise levels were very loud. The smell of weed vapes all throughout the hotel was disgusting. Pool Condition: The pool was in terrible shape—green and foamy. This made us question its safe usability. Overall, while the breakfast staff made a great impression, the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired. Hopefully, management can address some of these issues for future group stays.

"Where do I start??"

It takes a lot for me to write negative reviews because i try to find the good in a situation. There was no good here, other than my refund. My family and I booked a room at this location because it is right across the street from Kings Dominion. I booked through a well-known 3rd party site. Like always, I receive emails and updates regarding my upcoming stay. Well, please tell me why the hotel did not notify me that the elevator was out of service? I stroll in on my knee scooter and a cast on my foot, yet the receptionist tells me I can use the stairs. After giving her an "are you kidding me look", I informed her that I indeed could NOT take the stairs. After informing me that there were no more rooms, I asked for a refund and commenced to looking for rooms at the nearby hotels. She still hadn't processed my refund. When I asked why not, she says she hadn't in case the other hotels didn't have rooms either. Umm what would it matter? I STILL can't climb stairs. Finally, I got my refund and went on my way. Needless to say, this was an extremely disappointing experience. I never stay at the Country Inn and Suites anyway, so I cannot say I would ever give them another try. If you have mobility issues. I would say call ahead. Sure, this may be an infrequent occurrence, but heaven forbid you come from far away to stay due to visiting Kings Dominion and unable to because you run into a situation like mine.

"DO NOT STAY HERE!"

DO NOT STAY HERE! I have stayed here several times. When I have a problem, the hotel management seems not to care and always has so excuses to why it is not their fault. My complaint is not with Choice Hotels, which I am a Silver Member; but it is a direct complaint of the family management of this location. CHOICE HOTEL, I highly recommend you drop/replace this management. It is not worth wrecking your brand! They have certainly tarnished it for me. COUNTRY INN MGT, So you are aware, I am responsible ever year, twice a year for bringing about 100 families to the local, Virginia State wrestling tournaments in Doswell. Since you did not take care of me, I will not be recommending your hotel as our main stay as I have for the past 3 years. I do not like how I was treated as well as other guests who have had issues in front of me while at your front desk. I watch you make excuses. Perhaps this post as well as the other posts I will be posting on the internet will negatively impact your business to such a point that it show you in the future to take care of your customers.

"I would just pass on this spot"

Check in was easy Room was clean Service was not a good one. When needed a few things from the little Store they said we couldnt have anything unless I paid cash……………….. I just wanted a bottle of water. There was no way he could help me. There must be something wrong with the rules. So I had to pack up the car and run to a gas station which is fine but when you see water in front of you it just stinks

"Horrible Place - Do not stay here!"

Do not stay at this hotel! The bathroom door would not shut. The shower curtain rod was not installed properly, and the curtain gathered in the middle. There was mold on the side of the nightstand. We found a cockroach on our first night. We advised the hotel and they said they would contact us, but never did. The breakfast area tables were dirty and guests had to clean the tables themselves. What a waste of money!
