"Good location, okay hotel."

Positives: location, water pressure in the shower, the staff was nice, breakfast was okay but it’s free. Negatives: walls are paper-thin and you can hear everything, bathroom is extremely small and you have to shut the door to get into the shower.

Friends recommended this hotel but their stay was years ago. I should have listened to the current negative reviews. This was the most negative hotel experience we have ever had. First, they are extremely understaffed. There was a line in the lobby to check in. If you need anything, you are better off going buying it yourself. We needed more towels (only two per room even if four people are staying in the room) and the front desk person is also the person to bring you the towel. They must bring in outside staff to do breakfast then they are gone. Even during peak hours, I could not find anyone at the front desk. I heard voices in the breakfast room and went in to find the two staff members chatting. Staff wears street clothing and no name tag so you don't know who they are. Staff seems untrained. I witnessed housekeeping with a pile of "clean" towels on the dirty floor stocking her cart. She was literally taking the clean towels from the floor! Other negatives - towels are old and smell bad, rundown, crowded buffet area, dirty stained carpet and furniture. There were stains on the duvet insert. I could see them through the cover.

"Would have been worth a further walk to stay at a different hotel."

Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Location is super close to the falls but after that, it’s downhill. Checkin is at 4pm and we arrived at almost 5pm to our rooms not being ready and had to wait about another hour to get into the rooms. The parking lot, lobby, and rooms needed a deep clean. Rooms were just clean enough to not leave and go elsewhere, but were not clean and were certainly showing the age of the hotel. That was manageable but then we had to get room keys reset multiple times because they kept failing. Came back late on Saturday night after a show in Buffalo around 11pm to a lobby full of people locked out of their rooms, us included. There were no employees to be found anywhere in the hotel to help get access to rooms. After calling corporate they sent someone from (I think a sister hotel) who had to jump the desk and get into the computers to get us access to our room. Didn’t get in until after midnight. We were told the manager would be in touch the next day to make it right. Not only did we not hear from the manager (and she dodged our attempts to get in touch via phone), breakfast the next morning was completely cleared out and had to wait about 30min for fresh food to come out. Will never stay at a Choice hotel again.

The best way to explain this hotel is “the hotel that care forgot”. It runs on autopilot and must not have management/corporate/owner that cares or even checks in with the employees that work there. Pros: Location to a few good attractions Cons: Rundown, dirty Very thin walls- We could hear our neighbor’s dog barking as well as their conversations and coughing. Sink clogged Hair in tub Extremely understaffed (don’t bother asking for anything. At certain times, the front desk person is the only one there doing everything.) Ice machine broken Weird smelling towels Uncomfortable beds Toilet seat not attached properly and moves around Extremely loud bathroom vent that rattled like it would fall down (and you could not turn it off if light was on) Carpet/ furniture stained and gross Breakfast area crowded and dingy The positive reviews here do not make any sense to me. The location does not come close to making up for this place. One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.

"Extremely disappointing"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Comfort Inn the Pointe. First, the sink wouldn’t drain properly, and to make things worse, I found a blood spots on the blanket. There was also a missing piece to the coffee pot, making it unusable. I requested a new coffee pot and never received it. The hotel seemed understaffed, and the few employees I encountered seemed overwhelmed. Ice machines were broken on every floor except the 2nd and 4th. The hallways are very warm and have a musty smell. The elevators are extremely slow. I would not say the hotel was filthy, but definitely was not clean. The towels did not have a fresh smell. It is very rundown and showing its age. The quality of the sheets was abysmal—cheap polyester, uncomfortable, and scratchy. The breakfast buffet was poor with low-quality food. The coffee was the worst part—it was thin, watery, and tasted like the paper cup. We ended up eating breakfast out every day after the first try. Adding to my frustration, the area around the hotel was unkempt, and there were no decent food options nearby. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I do not understand some of the positive reviews. I should’ve listened to the negative reviews. We paid an average of $225 a night so I made the false assumption that it would be a decent, not perfect, option. The Comfort Inn the Point needs a complete overhaul. I do not understand how Corporate has allowed the hotel to become what it has.
