I have so many great things to say about this hotel. I usually stay somewhere else when I go to New York but this time needed to be in specific area and Club Quarters was perfectly located. The room was small but very functional, with a corner desk with lounge that served as dining as well as work table. The beds and pillows were super comfy and rooms were really quiet - we couldn't hear footsteps or voices of neighbours. I was there for a few weeks and was wanting extra facilities so they gave me a mini fridge and microwave for my room at no charge which was much appreciated. I loved the rooftop lounge area which has a coffee machine and water/sparkling water taps and was accessible 24 hours a day. There is an outdoor part of the lounge which was heated and enclosed so we could still use it even on the cold and snowy days. As well there was a laundry with 2 washer/dryers which was free and even laundry detergent was supplied at no charge. There is a 24 hour Reception and security as well. I was travelling solo and never felt unsafe. The only thing that I could comment negatively on was the air con was quite old and was a floor unit and it turned on and off to keep temperature consistent and it was super loud and made a bang when it turned on, so that took some getting used to. But really that was all I could fault and I would absolutely stay here again.

Awesome staff, the stay was overall a really nice experience. I needed some ME time in the city and this was just the gem for the experience. Front desk was great from the start. Especially Shaun. He was so accommodating and just overall professional with attention to detail kind of guest service. I will definitely stay here again.

"Perfect location for Mid town."
TripAdvisor user rating 4.0 out of 5

It's a perfect location for Mid-town Manhattan. Tiny lobby with kiosk check-in. Small but spotless rooms. My coffee maker didn't work. There was one in the lounge, but it didn't work perfectly at the time. I got a cup of coffee out nonetheless. My toilet lever to flush broke in the evening, and I was told a maintenance person wouldn't be there until after 9 am the following day. I was offered to move rooms, but it was late in the evening, and that hassle was more than just using the lounge restroom. It was fixed the next day. I had brought the wrong charger for my phone, and as I was leaving to buy a new one, I stopped at the desk and asked if there was one lying around that maybe another guest left by mistake. They found one for me, and I was very grateful! Everyone was very friendly and kind.

"Go for looks not for comfort"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5

(I’m reposting this from google, because I hear this site gets views.) This should simply be categorized as a “traveler’s stop-off”. When will hotels learn that just being “pretty” isn’t going to cut it when it comes to the “hotel experience”? The tiny lobby that welcomes you is corny and lacking the charisma that the ceiling decor tries hard to pull off. Talk about minimalist living! There were no basic amenities in the room (microwave/fridge). Though, they did have a tray of [typically] overpriced snacks - that they warned me in advance would be covered by the $100 deposit they held on my card when I arrived. We’re in January. We’re in the midst of a colder fall and winter than we’ve ever seen in many years. This weekend stayed 20s and below. In my hopes to stay warm, I set the thermostat at max (80°). It warmed up to what felt like the 70s and then, instead of shutting off - since it claimed to reach 80 - the air conditioning kicked in for a minute - thereby undoing all the “hard work” I’d just witnessed. The bed was not at all comfortable! It felt like sleeping directly on a box spring. When I stripped the bed to confirm I wasn’t being a snob, I was kind of correct in my guess. There was a box spring topped by a cheap mattress whose topper is barely thick enough to help it *pass* as a mattress. It feels like 90% spring wrapped by a cheap comforter. (You know how cheap comforters tend to wear out after a few uses - leaving you with errant clumps of cotton on a now skeletal-looking blanket? Yeah. Imagine that under your hurtful back and now-bruised buttocks. {I didn’t pay extra for the butt pain, so I’m sure that’s a selling point for them here in NY! Too bad this isn’t in The Village!🤣🤣}) I will give them one thing, though: that shower is fan-freaking-tastic! Strong pressure. Hot is as hot as you’d ever want it. I wish I could take it home with me. This stay made my birthday staycation “mediocre” at best.😖

"Rip off hotel taking un-authorized $200 deposit"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed February 16, 2025 NEW
My main complaint is the fact the hotel took a $200 deposit despite the fact that it was not cited as a hotel policy on booking dot com. I contacted the platform who said Club Quarters were not permitted to take a deposit unless it was stipulated in the policy. I checked out 5 days ago and I am still waiting for a refund. I am still unsure what the deposit was for as the hotel did not provide food or beverages and the pathetic offerings in the hotel room of overpriced M&Ms or peanuts were negligible. I assume they have to put something in the room to get away with taking a BS deposit. There was no tea or coffee except on the roof terrace and that was cold. To be honest, If someone trashed the room they'd be doing CQ a favour because the property insurance would pay out and at least the room would get a makeover. All hotels are required to hold insurance which generally covers damage to the property, there is absolutely no reason for a hotel that does not provide any F&B service to retain additional funds from you. I had booked and selected this hotel because the photos depicted an accessible room with a bath. This is the ONLY reason I selected this property because I had back surgery and I was in a lot of pain. I am not disabled I only wanted to take a bath. The hotel amenities also stipulated choice of bath or shower. The reality is if you were disabled and had mobility issues you would not be able to navigate the room or shower. I am not disabled but I had seen a bath tub depicted in one of the hotel photos. On check-in reception informed me there were no rooms with bath tubs and to his knowledge never did. To add insult to injury there was no hot water and I was told to run the tap and wait? It was the same story the following day with no hot water in the taps. They say you get what you pay for in life and no truer word has been spoken in the case of Club Quarters. You can get better for $200 as proven in my last review. The photos are enhanced, and do not accurately reflect the age or shabbiness of the property. The carpet was so old it could have walked out by itself. The mattress was saggy and soft. The furniture is old, tired and quite frankly I found the whole hotel depressing. The staff were friendly until you made a complaint, the member of staff I spoke with seemed to know nothing about legal requirements of booking dot com. and kept repeating it was hotel policy. Nobody in their right mind would book this hotel direct. They rely on booking platforms to display false information and swindle customers. On a side note CQ in London do the exact same thing. Don't book these properties.
