"Beautiful park"

Beautiful! Different than any other national park that I have been too! The park was smaller than expected but that made it easier to get around. Hikes to the arches were on the smaller side 1-3 miles round trip and can even just drive right up to double arch and the windows area. The one thing I didnt expect is that alot of the hiking was through sand which make it alittle more challenging. Park was busy but never felt crowded. You have to have a permit to get into the park between 7-4 and for some of the hikes. This place is a must see! Also pretty good bathroom facilities.

We’ve been to many national parks and Arches did not disappoint. Great hiking (although a bit warm - in the 80’s F) but just driving to the many of the scenic sites is great too. We found Arches unique because of the natural arches (of course) and the incredible landscapes that can found only in this park. Our favorite activity was the delicate arch trail - the Delicate Arch is inspiring. This hike won’t be for everyone, but if you’re willing to bring some water and not afraid of some exertion it should be well worth it. I can say, there is some element of risk once you get to the arch but it’s safe and picturesque. Just remember, you have to register a time to enter the park - we had a short wait of about 15 minutes and there were plenty of parking spaces all throughout the park (this is very helpful). We visited in late September so our timing was right.

"I love the strangeness of this park."

I was here with my wife in 2011. She has died since then. A friend and I saw it this time. First, we went at the end of March because, like most highly visited national parks now, they instituted a timed window entry system. Here, it didn't start until April 1st. What this means, is that you go online, and get a entry time, which is usually a two hour "window." If you arrive during that window, you get in. If you don't, you don't get in. It usually runs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. As for the park itself, it is a beautiful, strange place. I liked it just as much as the first time. There are options available for all levels of visitors. My wife couldn't hike much in 2011, so we just did a tour via the park road. Still, there were lots of things to see. My friend and I, hiked a little. Much more to see. This is in my top three favorite national parks, monuments, etc., and I have been to 60 of them. Fiery Furnace was closed when we were there, but I heard it reopened. As for the most famous arch there, Delicate Arch, we opted not to do the trail, which is a moderate to demanding two mile trail. We saw it from viewpoints available along a different road. We took in a lot of other easy hikes though. There is so much to see. I strongly recommend planning ahead, so you know what to expect. If you come in summer, it gets hot, as in 80's-100's. March was just right.

Arches National Park was a great place to visit. It has hikes for all effort levels - just be sure to read the descriptions first. The map was easy to follow and I’m a person who typically struggles with following a map. The views are amazing up close and on the scenic drive. The restrooms were clean. It wasn’t crowded at the Park. Be sure to pack a lunch and plenty of water.
