The resort is one of a kind. Great spa a team ringer in front. Polar bears in the lobby. Everyone was great but Caleb Hobgood was exceptional. He anticipates the neeeds of guests and shows southern hospitality way up north. The warmth was welcomed on a cold night.

We booked a last minute one night stay at this resort on our trip to Alaska after being ‘Anchoraged out’. WOW! Same price as Anchorage but it was just SO relaxing, clean and safe! A perfect end to our trip! Room was clean with a beautiful view of the ski slope. Beds were so comfy and the room layout was great. It was a bit foggy/rainy, otherwise we would have taken the gondola up to the top. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and fabulous service/views at the ABar Sports Bar downstairs. We would have checked out Girdwood but it was extremely busy so we opted to stay put. Small gift shop was nice and, after jumping through some Alaska state hoops (no fault of the staff), we were able to purchase a few cans of beer to enjoy while we relaxed in our room. The day of our departure we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Forte overlooking the pond. We were lucky enough to witness a moose stroll down to the water for a drink. The staff was wonderful and encouraged us to go outside on the outdoor dining deck to get a (safe) closer look! I’ve thought about this place many times since our trip. Hands down the BEST place we stayed in our two weeks bopping around Alaska. This is a must do if we ever return!

"a beautiful place with cold rooms"

This property is in a beautiful location. Astonishing, in fact. The hotel is very nice as well. The amenities such as the tram to the top of the mountain are first class and the staff is quite helpful. The only problem I experienced was freezing in my room. Apparently the thermostat is not a typical one. If you want heat, you can't have the fan on. To adjust the temperature you need to call the front desk, they l ring the engineer, and he/she does something to try to get the room warmer. And the max setting for heating is apparently 74 degrees. Despite this I will come back again for the sheer beauty.

"Nice staff, hotel so-so."

Huge hotel right at the ski lifts. Great Christmas decoration. Wonderful welcome from staff (shout out to Royalty who was lovely). Room was fine, great bed and pillow. Hotel has lots of 'places' - coffee shops, bars, restaurants. bit too big for my liking but can see how some would appreciate it (especially as Girdwood is so small). Tried to enjoy the pool but was overwhelmed by the number of kids and parents throwing footballs the full length of the pool and narrowly being missed several times. This should NOT BE ALLOWED. VERY expensive hotel for what it is. Ski lift rates - eye-watering!

"Horrible experienceS"

I can confidently say that visiting this ski resort was a colossal waste of time and money. The mountain itself is subpar at best, with poorly maintained runs and lackluster facilities. However, the worst part by far is the management. They are completely unwilling to help and clearly have no interest in customer satisfaction. Ever since the new ownership took over, the resort has gone downhill—fast. It’s painfully obvious that they’ve let standards slip in every way possible. What’s worse is that this is supposed to be one of the “better” ski resorts in Alaska, but frankly, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you’re coming here from out of state, save your money and go elsewhere. There are far better places to ski with much better management and customer service. Even the much-touted ski bridge is an absolute waste of time and adds no value to the experience. Super lame, super disappointing, and not worth it. I will not be returning, and I advise others to steer clear as well. Alaska deserves better than this.
